    Chris graduated from the University of Southampton, with a degree in Medicine in July 2000. In 2004, he joined the Wessex Specialist training programme in Rheumatology. During his training, Chris spent 9 months in the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit as an academic clinical fellow gaining experience in research. In February 2011, after obtaining his certificate of completion of specialist training in rheumatology and general (internal) medicine, Chris returned to the MRC LEU as a clinical research fellow and is currently registered for a PhD investigating how pre and post-natal environmental factors and parental bone mass influence offspring bone size and density. In addition to his research role, Chris works a consultant rheumatologist at University Hospital Southampton.
