Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of Science at the University of Southampton in a ceremony held at the Nuffield Theatre. Her Royal Highness has championed the cause of osteoporosis over many years, and is currently President of the National Osteoporosis Society. In the citation, read by Professor Cyrus Cooper, Director of the MRC LEU, her long-standing efforts in support of the disorder were outlined, as well as the three previous visits that she has made to the institution.
