The European Working Conditions Survey

Lead investigator: Professor David Coggon
Co-investigators: Georgia Ntani, Andrea Farioli
Main study questions:
(1) Have there been differential changes over time in the prevalence of low back and neck/upper limb pain between European countries?
(2) If so, to what extent have theses been associated with parallel or preceding changes in socioeconomic factors?

Study design:
Building on an earlier cross-sectional study in collaboration with colleagues at University of Bologna, we will analyse data from 29 countries in successive rounds of the European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS) and socioeconomic data from Eurostat. Findings from these analyses will help to inform governmental policies on social security and employment.
